Spoiled by these awfully splendid mountains!

We’re spoiled by the absolutely splendid and stunning views the mountains of Montenegro and Albania are offering us (pictures to be found in the photocorner, video follows soon!). Meanwhile, everything looks so fresh: green gras under snowy mountain peaks, happy sheep and cows, mirror clear cold mountain rivulets, …

Steep paths, 2 new tires!, 1 fall of the bike (luckily not too bad) has been the price the mountains asked, but we’re happy to pay that. Shade has become the new gold, as the cold finally has gone and the sun is everywhere.

Today we entered Albania. I got talking to a – probably the one and only - Spanish speaking petrol station employee. A talk about the economy which is dead in Albania, the average loan (200 euros/month), why a lot of youngsters try to escape to the West or the United States…

Such a beautiful country but these poverty behind the scenes…

We’re cycling to raise money for Indian children, but I’m happy to pay a room and dinner trying to support them a little as well. I really hope these people of a beautiful country will once get what they deserve.
