Every end of a big adventure is the start of another.

Finished our CYCLING trip!! # UNCOUNTABLE nice people met! # 6595, 39km on the GPS # 13 countries we've crossed # more than 100 chais/teas # 398 emptied drinking bottles # 4 strong headwinds, very few rainy days but much more sweaty days

After 95 days of cycling, our cycling trip is coming to an end. I'm so grateful for all the beauty we have seen, all the amazing experiences we've had, but most of all the hospitality we received from all the people in all these countries. I can't describe in words how helpful and saving this was during our trip.

We did learn a lot: about ourselves and how we behave in different situations, our personal weaknesses that still need improvement.

Travel can bring to light obstacles that are normally more hidden or balanced in daily life. It accentuate where the areas of improvement are and where your challenges lay (eg finding solutions calmly whenever you are really tired). We try to be alert for this when we return to our daily life.

Travelling is all about leaving the cocoon and live in the moment, which make you feel like you’re really living in this here and now, enjoying. Not planning into the future, not thinking about the past, …

Living in the present makes you think more efficiently and reflective – why am I doing this? Am I doing what I want?

We learned we don’t want to rush or force things – just let life flow in its way and in accordance with your current feelings – and it will be allright.

We learned the uttermost importance of openness, respect, solidarity and hospitality.

We will try to carry these insights with us and act in accordance with them, although we know our society limits our possibilities due to time pressure. But it is and possible – in the end you chose your own priorities in life.

We learned the power of a laugh and a relaxed enthusiasm – it opened our hearts and it helped while connecting with others.

Most of all – we learned that most people – even when making mistakes sometimes - have a good heart and want to act to do good.

We will never stop to believe in people and their strengths.
